I am a concerned citizen who wants your media team to cover this URGENT press conference on behalf of GujjarNullah, Mehmoodabad, and OrangiNullah affectees. It is on Saturday 01 Nov [Insert time].
In 2021, hundreds of working class families with leases were made homeless after the violent Gujjarnala eviction operation. Affectees fought a long legal battle for their right to relocation and rehabilitation, and won.
But justice has been delayed and, therefore, denied. Their core demands are still unmet: rental checks until plots alloted, quick allotments of plots, fair construction payment and inclusion of missing IDs.
The Supreme Court hearing on this matter is urgent. Affectees want to urge the Courts to make the right decision and Sindh Government to ensure immediate implementation of the ruling.
For the sake of these affectees, I hope you will cover the press conference and report on this!
